DO YOU KNOW THE FEELING OF NOT BEING ABLE TO BREATHE IN THE MOMENTS AFTER YOU FALL A LONG DISTANCE, AND HIT THE FLOOR WITH FORCE?

Please watch this devastating summary by TV's "Sixty Minutes" of the impact of fascism on music, "courtesy" of No. 47.

Controlling music in the Nazi regime resulted in the exclusion of Jewish composers and musicians from publishing and performing music. It is instructive to consider and be forewarned by this summary page of how the Nazi's opposed non--Aryan music including banning certain concerts and finding German sympathizers in famed conductors and musicians.

Lest any reader point out that this discriminatory act against the youth in this case was not a direct "order from headquarters," note that Hitler operated his controls of music (and art) indirectly. He fomented competition between heads of overlapping agencies. Censorship was often by uncoordinated spontaneous actions by local Nazi officials "working towards the Fuhrer", and generally reflecting Hitler's often-expressed views on music.

Because I am a firm believer in humor as both a non-violent weapon and occasional spirit-uplifter, check out podcaster Tennessee Brando's new original song and then enjoy the marketing cleverness of our ally across the pond:
